Who will answer the door tonight? You left with your dogs into that place of coutless forms, and as the storm clouds built up in the sky, I too was gone, couldn’t wait for the rain.

You said you were going east, you said you were flying free, and I wondered where the ropes might be, or where your victory might stand.

And so I left, as the stormy clouds grew faint again.

And so I left, leaving my phone upon your desk.

And so I left, as the stormy sky turned blue again.

And so I left my ringing phone upon your desk and never heard your free voice sing, ‘cause I had left.
